Regine Velasquez approves of Lani Misalucha’s switch to TV 5
Songbird Regine Velasquez is all for Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha’s career decision to work with TV5.
“I’m happy for her kasi hindi rin naman siya exclusive dito (GMA-7), hindi rin naman siya exclusive sa kabila (ABS-CBN), so it’s just better, ‘di ba?” Regine said during the Thanksgiving Party of GMA-7 for the cast of “Diva,” which will have its grand conclusion from July 26 to July 30.
The Songbird and Asia’s Nightingale have worked together in the past. They once hosted “SOP” until Lani moved to the United States to start a career in the Las Vegas strip with the Society of Seven.
Before signing up with the Kapatid network, Lani worked for a month with ABS-CBN, appearing on “ASAP.” She also mounted a concert via "ASAP Live."
Regine only heard about Lani’s move from friends.
“Actually, hindi ko alam pero nabalitaan ko. I’m happy for her. I heard that she’s also doing a soap. That’s good.”
After “Diva,” Regine will slow down on work to focus on her greatest love, singer-composer Ogie Alcasid. Regine feels she hasn’t been giving Ogie quality time lately owing to her busy taping schedule for her kantaserye, out-of-the-country shows, and the weekly Sunday musical show “Party Pilipinas.”
“I have not been able to take care of him. I just need to really find time to serve him,” she said.
Although she’s not keen on starting a new TV series just yet, Regine admits she feels at home doing comedy.
Wala akong pakialam,” she said.
Regine is surprised at the positive feedback that her team-up with TJ Trinidad is getting.
Puwede niya akong tawagang ‘Tsang’. At least nakakatuwa na feeling nila na puwede pa kaming mag-work together,” she said laughing heartily.
On the love front, Regine is obviously happy with Ogie. She shared Ogie’s sweet acts of love that he’s been showering her.
“May mga spontaneous things na ginagawa ‘yon (Ogie) to make me happy. Minsan, out of the blue... favorite ko talaga Japanese food. Eh, ‘yung Japanese restaurant na pinupuntahan namin malayo, Makati. Alam niya rin na tamad ako. Kasi ‘pag nagtatrabaho ako, pag-uwi ko sa bahay I wanna stay home with him. I wanna watch TV, I wanna sleep pero gusto ko nandiyan lang siya sa tabi ko. Ayaw ko siyang aalis. Magwo-workout lang siya... ‘San ka pupunta?’ Nagpa-panic na ako, ‘yung gano’n."
“So, minsan meron siyang... Itatawag pa talaga niya, ipapakiusap pa talaga niya. Ang sweet.”
She disclosed Ogie’s sweet message to her just before the party, which made her heart flutter.
“Nakakatawa kasi kanina tinext niya ako. ‘I’m shy to ask. Can I take you out on a date?’ ‘Bakit may mga gano’n kang message?’ ‘Wala kasi naliligaw ako, eh.’”
It's just an example of how sweet her boyfriend can get, she said.
“Marami siyang ginagawang gano’n.
