TV and indie film actor Coco Martin simply laughed off the rumor that he has a May-December love affair with Kris Aquino.

Coco, who’s good friends with Kris (as well as with her brother, President Noynoy Aquino and their sisters) in real life, said it was her who told him about the rumor.

Hindi naman totoo ‘yun,” he told ABS-CBN.com in an interview.

It’s actually an “old issue,” Coco added, that’s why they were not at all affected.

Coco previously worked with Kris on the defunct teleserye “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo (KTM).” His co-actor, Gerald Anderson, was also rumored to be in a relationship with host-actress.

The award-winning actor deems that people had probably misinterpreted his closeness with Kris and her family, particularly during the campaign. Coco, it can be recalled, was one of the most fervent supporters of the incumbent president.

“Ang sabi ko nga, ang Aquino family sobrang…siguro ‘yung nagawa ko rin nung campaign, ‘yung pagmamahal at suporta na binigay namin kay Noynoy, ibinabalik nila sa amin,” he said.

Although post-“KTM," he and Kris have maintained constant communication, he said that they haven’t talked about Kris’ marital problems with James Yap.

Aside from Coco and Gerald, two other politicians who are both very much married are also being linked to Kris. Camps of both politicians have both denied the allegations in earlier reports.

Kris is set to return to the country by the end of the month after her three-week vacation with sons Joshua and Baby James, in time for the first death anniversary of her mother, former President Cory Aquino. She is also expected to iron out details on her annulment case against James.
