Albeit the fate of "Wowowee" still seems uncertain, Kelly Misa maintained that her friendship with her co-hosts in the show remains strong.

“[The situation] sealed our friendship kasi no matter what, sama-sama pa rin kami. Even without ‘Wowowee,’ parang sila na ‘yong best group of girl friends ko in showbiz. Diba they say na mate-test mo talaga ‘yong friendship when you’re faced with adversity?” she told Bulletin Entertainment in an interview just Metro Wedding held a bridal shower  for her last July 24.

Kelly, together with newbies Carmen Soo, Isabelle Abiera, and Jed Montero, was added to the roster of “Wowowee” hosts a few months ago, joining Pokwang, Mariel Rodriguez, RR Enriquez, and Valerie Concepcion. Three of the original hosts—Mariel, RR and Pokwang—are rumored to be in danger of being ousted from the show if Willie returns.

The model-turned-TV star admitted that it has been a “roller coaster” since she began her stint, what with all the effects ensued by Willie’s controversial tiff with Jobert Sucaldito. “It’s a bit scary because I hear different things everyday,” she confessed. “In a way we’re hanging, we’re waiting for something to push through or not push through.”

Whatever may come out of the whole “Wowowee” hullabaloo, Kelly said she will always be thankful for the doors that the show opened for her. “I’ll still support the show, whether they would keep me or not, I’m still all for ‘Wowowee’ kasi sobrang grateful ko sa kanila na binigyan nila ako ng chance,” she added.

Meanwhile, the very much-engaged Kelly recently got embroiled in a controversy alleging that “Wowowee” guest host Luis Manzano is courting her. Both of them have refuted the rumor in separate interviews on “Showbiz News Ngayon” a few days ago.

Kelly revealed that she saw the “SNN” report with her fiancé Carlos Fernandez, whom she said simply laughed the rumor off.

“He knows how good a guy Luis is. And sobrang relieved nga siya na sa lahat ng guest hosts, siya ‘yung tumagal to fill in for Kuya Willie,” she related.

She thinks that the rumors may have come from sightings of the two of them goofing around backstage.

“Sa show hindi masyadong nakikita, pero backstage nakikita ng tao na ba’t biglang close kami eh kakapasok ko pa lang. Ang hindi nila alam na since high school pa lang, more than 10 years ko na siyang kilala, so siguro nagulat lang sila na bakit nagbubulungan ‘tong mga ‘to, nagtatawanan? But we’re just laughing about our batch mates, the people we know,” Kelly said.

Rumors and speculations may pop up here and there, but nothing’s stopping Kelly from getting her own happy ending. Kelly hopes she’ll be able to exchange “I do’s” with “Los” (her hubby-to-be’s nickname) in a beach wedding next year. Right now, Kelly said she’s busy with preparations and is thinking of gathering her closest friends and getting a wedding planner to help her.

Interestingly, Kelly said her engagement with Los “pushed me to join showbiz”---something she had always wanted to do but was afraid to try back then.

“Nung na-engage ako, I thought, ‘I’m gonna get married, wait lang, nagawa ko na ba lahat ng kailangan kong gawin?’ Na-realize ko, no I haven’t fulfilled all my dreams. Why not kung kaya? So nagbakasakali, and I feel lucky naman na naging smooth ‘yung transition,” she related.

And lucky for her, Los is all for Kelly’s showbiz aspirations. “He’s my number one fan!” she enthused.

“It’s a big deal na pinayagan niya kong mag-showbiz after getting engaged. Diba usually most guys [would say] ‘hindi, sa bahay ka na, sa akin ka na.’ But he’s so proud of me. Ganun kami, we both want to push each other to do the best we can do. Why stop each other diba?” she added.

Aside from “Wowowee,” Kelly is seen on “Banana Split” and “Elias Paniki” (of the “Agimat” series).

Nicole Hernandez and Cesca Litton (who filled in for Mariel) hosted Kelly’s bridal shower event, which was full of games, laughter, as well as tears (of joy, of course). Spotted in the venue are Kelly’s co-hosts Valerie and Carmen.

The occasion is said to be part of Metro Weddings’10th anniversary celebration, as well as “in honor of Kelly who was their previous cover girl.” The celebration will culminate in September through the Metrowear Bridal Fashion Show featuring the creations of Cary Santiago.
