After all that's been said about it, the fate of the controversial noontime show “Wowowee” has finally been decided: A new show will replace it.

“Pilipinas For The Win” (or simply called “FTW”) is taking over the slot of the five-year old show beginning Saturday, July 31. The announcement was made by ABS-CBN on Tuesday, July 27 via “TV Patrol.”

One of the rumors surrounding the show proved to be true. That is, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino will host the new show, together with one of “Wowowee”’s most loved guest hosts, Robin Padilla. Joining them are three of the show’s original hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Pokwang, and Valerie Concepcion.

Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN’s Corporate Communications department, said in an official statement that “FTW” is a “game and variety show that will surely bring joy, energy and hope to Filipinos all over the world.”---a concept that seems similar to that of “Wowowee.”

"Pilipinas For The Win" will be managed by director Johnny Manahan, creative director Bobot Mortiz, business unit head Jay Montelibano, and executive producers Phoebe Anievas and Rancy Recato. It will air after "Showtime,” he added.

This then leaves controversial host Willie Revillame out of the picture, after being rumors of him making a comeback on the show. His rumored return was also seemingly bolstered by his daughter Meryll Soriano in a recent interview, as well as by his long-time confidante Cristy Fermin via the showbiz talk show “Paparazzi.”

Osorio assured that “through his manager, [Willie] was already informed about this new development.”

Revillame remains a Kapamilya

“He was also notified about the new program being planned for him and this will be announced in due time,” Osorio added.

The controversial host, though, is yet to issue a statement about the announcement.

A source told Bulletin Entertainment that Revillame’s ouster from “Wowowee” was allegedly a result of a survey conducted among TFC (The Filipino Channel) subscribers, one of “Wowowee”’s most avid followers. The alleged survey indicated that 75% of TFC subscribers would rather have a new show than for "Wowowee" to continue without Willie.

“FTW” hosts happy

It looks like it’s Aquino who’s making a “comeback,” particularly in the field of hosting game shows. It was in 2009 when Kris, who's also dubbed as Queen of Philippine Game Shows, last hosted one titled “Pinoy Bingo Night.”

A month ago, she bid the showbiz talk shows “The Buzz” and “Showbiz News Ngayon” goodbye, in hopes of leading a less controversial life now that her brother, President Noynoy Aquino, is in position.

"I'm happy to be part of the new noontime show, and to work with Robin, Pokwang, Mariel and the whole production team. I'm excited to be back on television," the Aquino sister said in a text message aired on “TV Patrol.”

She is set to return to the country on July 30 after her three-week vacation in the US with sons Josh and Baby James.

Padilla is likewise happy for the opportunity given to him. He previously declined the offer to be the new main host of “Wowowee,” citing his personal ideals and principles as reasons.

"Masayang-masaya ako pero hindi hamon ‘yon sa akin kundi pagsilbi sa tao. Wala akong hangad kundi mapaligaya ang mga kababayan ko sa lahat ng sulok ng daigdig," read his text message to ABS-CBN.

Pokwang couldn’t help the tears during her interview. “Talagang nagulat ako… wala akong kaalam-alam… Thank you… pasalamat na lang po ako kung anuman dahil alam ko at nararamdaman ko naman pong maganda. Salamat po,” she related.

Rodriguez’s tweet on July 27 was also on a happy note. “Thaaaaaaaank you everyone for being happy for me :) aawww thank you!!!!” she posted.

Both Pokwang and Rodriguez were rumored to be in danger of getting axed from “Wowowee” had Revillame returned.

Becky Aguila, Valerie Concepcion’s manager, enthused that the new stint is “a big surprise for us.”

“We thank ABS-CBN management for the wonderful blessing,” she said in a text message.

What about RR?

RR Enriquez, another co-host on “Wowowee,” had her last day on the show (via the “Cash Mo Tour” segment) last July 22. The sexy star took to Twitter on July 24 to express her sentiments on her stint:

“tnx 4 all d tweets & concerns & to all who misses me sa wowowee tnx=) basta 4 now i don't want answer any question regarding wowowee=) whatever happens ilove wowowee, abs cbn, kuya willie malaki utang na loob ko sa kanila=) they are d reason bakit ako nasa showbiz=)
