Boratong relatives continuing illegal drug trade – NBI
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested two alleged drug traffickers said to be relatives of convicted Pasig City “shabu tiangge” operator Amin Imam Boratong during a raid last week.
NBI director lawyer Magtanggol B. Gatdula identified the suspects as Hamem Boratong Panda, 22, and Minerba Boratong Batugan, 27, residents of Pasig City.
The NBI believes Hamem and Minerba are related to Baratong.
Meanwhile, Acsaimen Boratong, alias “Macmac,” of Mapayapa Compound, Barangay Sto. Tomas, Pasig, managed to avoid arrest by using his children as human barricade to stop the operatives from pursuing him, the NBI said.
The NBI Reaction, Arrest and Interdiction Division (RAID) reported that the suspects allegedly continued their illicit drug business despite the arrest of their uncle Amin Imam Boratong.
Boratong and his wife, Sherly were responsible for establishing the “shabu tiangge” in Pasig City.
Panda and Batugan were caught with shabu at their house during the raid.
Acsaimen eluded arrest by using his three daughters aged 4-6 years-old as “human barricade” to deter the operatives from breaking open his steel door while he made good of his escape through the rooftop.
Hamen and Minerba were arrested by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Amor A. Reyes of the Manila regional trial court executive judge for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In November, 2006, NBI operatives arrested Boratong, a native of Marawi City, the alleged operator of the “shabu tiangge” which was raided in Pasig City in February, 2006. The NBI also arrested one of his wives, Sheryl Molera.
