Pool legend Francisco "Django" Bustamante said he was not surprised when he learned that he has been elected for induction into the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) Hall of Fame next month.

"No, as early as 2007, people from the BCA have been telling me that I will be inducted. But the thing is, I just need to win one more big title," Bustamante, 46, said during an interview in his house in Parañaque on Tuesday.

Despite his already established name in the pool circuit, the Tarlac native Bustamante had never really won a world title — until last month.

Bustamante ended a decade of futility when he thumped Taiwanese Kuo Po-Cheng, 13-7, to capture the 2010 World 9-Ball Pool championship on July 5 in Doha Qatar.

"That (9-Ball title) was what they're really waiting for. So when I won it, I knew this (Hall of Fame) would come next," he said while pointing to the 2010 World 9-ball glass trophy, stamped in a collection that was displayed in the living room.

"These victories (9-ball title and Hall of Fame induction) is really a dream come true for me," said Bustamante, adding that he dedicates his achievements to his less than a year old baby, who died while he was playing in the quarterfinals of the World
