Daughter of ex-NY mayor Giuliani arrested for shoplifting
NEW YORK, Aug 4, 2010 (AFP) – A 20-year-old daughter of former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani was arrested for shoplifting in a Manhattan cosmetics store, local media said Wednesday.
Employees of a beauty supply store in Manhattan's Upper East Side stopped Caroline Giuliani after she was seen snatching something from a store stand, the New York Post reported.
She was arrested and taken to Manhattan's 19th Precinct police station for processing.
A student at Harvard University, Caroline is the youngest of Giuliani's two daughters.
Giuliani was credited with reducing crime in New York during his 1994-2001 tenure as mayor. He was especially praised for his inspiring response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the closing months of his administration.
