Noynoy is no feng-shui fan
Despite being part-Chinese, President Noynoy Aquino is not a fan of feng-shui, according to his sister, Maria Elena "Ballsy" Aquino-Cruz.
"Standing in" for her brother at the Land Bank of the Philippines’ 20th Gawad Pitak and 7th Gawad Entrepreneur awards in Malacañang Palace on Monday, Ballsy related that even if their Chinese friends had been prodding the President to move in to his official residence at the Bahay Pangarap inside Malacañang before the "ghost month," Aquino had another reason why he finally transferred last week.
"I think he deliberately delayed his transfer because his comfort zone is really in Times Street. A lot of Chinese friends have been saying that he should move in before the 'ghost month' but he does not believe such things," Ballsy said.
"Different reasons have been given to him just so he would move in because the Presidential Security Group was also hard up because of the long travel from Times every morning. I think it’s because of that why finally he moved in," she said.
Ballsy said they were also the ones who helped fixed the official residence of their brother.
Ballsy and the Aquino's sisters started to take the role of "First Ladies" for the bachelor Chief Executive last Monday.
Ballsy, who prefers to be called "First Sister," rushed to the Landbank awards coming from the awarding of the Ninoy Aquino Fellows at the United States Embassy.
"It gives all the cooperatives more reasons to give their best and they're able to help more farmers and more small entrepreneurs," she said of his first time "standing in" for the President.
"Third Sister" Viel Aquino-Dee, for her part , attended a function at the De La Salle University Monday morning, according to Ballsy.
"First Sister daw, better than First Witch," she said, chuckling when asked how she prefers to be addressed.
Ballsy said the Aquino sisters will take turns in "standing in" for the President, depending on their schedule.
Other functions can be attended by the official family, she pointed out.
Aside from attending official functions, Ballsy said her brother also asks them to help him in arranging dinner or lunch meetings.
"He never wants fixing things for dinner or for lunches," Ballsy said of her brother whom she described as a "very shy" person.
"We're really glad that he is more sociable now. In the past he just kept to himself, reading. And he had very few close friends, people who have been his friends way back," she said.
Controversial "Fourth Sister" actress-host Kris, on the other hand, will also be attending functions for the President, Ballsy said.
"She's okay. Short answer," laughed Ballsy when asked about Kris who was in the news lately because of the breakup of her marriage with cager James Yap.
Pinky Aquino-Abellada is the "Second Sister" of the President.
