Look beyond political angle — DPWH
A number of infrastructure projects of the past administration that are already on the plate are in danger of being scrapped because of suspicion that these were political rewards in nature. Government engineers are appealing to the national government to be judicious and fair in scrapping the projects, and to look beyond the political angle.
They said that those who would be disadvantaged most are not the political players, but the people and the economies of the local governments which badly need those infra projects.
Since assuming office, Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson has been freezing infra projects that were identified with the priority programs of the previous administration.
This worried and demoralized the ranks of DPWH personnel, who believed that these were actual necessity in the involved areas — and not due to political consideration.
