Glamour and excitement reigned supreme at the recent Kaogma Festival in Camsur.  The brainchild of Camsur’s vibrant Gov. LRay Villafuerte, this annual event is a nine-day celebration which ranges from musical fetes, sports competition, to a beauty pageant.  “Kaogma 2010: Everybody Happy” kicked off with a Grand Opening parade and a production show, hosted by Bobby Yan, which featured the Resorts World’s famous Russian Power Duo, the Brazilian dancers, and the Pretty Young Thing dance group.

The various sports fests included: the 5th Philippine Wakeboarding Nationals, which was held at the world-class Camsur Watersports Complex, the Motocross Challenge which showcased over a hundred motorcycle daredevils, and the Tour of Camsur, where 250 cyclists went for a two-day race from Pili to Lagonoy and back. The Downhill Bike competition had over 70 bikers racing down Mt. Isarog’s sharp hillside. In boxing, the “Uragon” title was held.  Celebrities took the forefront at the Aquafest Challenge in Lago del Rey to the delight of the audience.

In the beauty and glamour side, the ‘Miss Kaogma 2020’ beauty pageant, hosted by Marc Nelson, was graced by the presence of reigning Bb. Pilipinas-Miss Universe 2010 Ma. Venus Raj, who herself was crowned Miss Kaogma in 2007.  The finest ladies in Bikolandia were serenaded by Mateo Guidicelli, and the Miss Kaogma 2010” title went to Jaine Hidalgo,  Miss Camsur 2010 was Mae Liezel Ramos and Miss Kaogma Tourism 2010 Lizl Camille Resoles.
