If the dream fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao eventually happens, Don King is certain of one thing.

“Mayweather will knock Pacquiao out,” King told the London Times in the newspaper’s August 21 issue.

“Pacquiao has two chances: slim and none. And Slim just left town.”

Don King, who just turned 80 years old, said he and Mayweather are set to talk in the coming days and foremost in the agenda is to make a Manny Pacquiao fight for May 2011.

Mayweather has been seen around King the past weeks and the two are said to be headed to agree on a promotional deal since Floyd Mayweather is no longer happy with the way Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) is promoting him.

“Whatever (Mayweather) makes, he could make more with me,” boasted King, who gave the world epic heavyweight matches like the 1974 Rumble in the Jungle and the 1975 Thrilla in Manila.

King actually joined hands with Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum in staging the Ali-Frazier III at the Araneta Coliseum and King is more than confident that an agreement can be done easily with Arum representing the Filipino star.

“I am a people person and Mayweather and Pacquiao would be a people explosion. It’s the fight people want to see and they will come from all over the world to see it,” added King.

Efforts to hold a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight this year have failed. They were originally scheduled to meet on March 13, and then this November 13, but Arum’s Top Rank Inc. and the Oscar De La Hoya-owned GBP could not agree on the terms.

Pacquiao is now being groomed to fight Antonio Margarito.
