Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao could no longer devote his whole time serving his constituents in the lone district of Sarangani before the House of Representatives once his November fight is finalized this week.

But the pound-for-pound king promised to make sure he will be able to wisely manage the time he will spend in Congress and the hours he will spare to jumpstart his training while representatives of Team Pacquiao are ironing out details of the upcoming bout.

"It will push through but it's not yet final. We're still talking about the contract," Pacquiao said in an interview.

"But right now, I'm busy with my constituents. I'll focus here in Congress until they finalize the date and the venue within a week," he added.

Pacquiao did not give any hint of disappointment after the California Boxing officials denied his would-be opponent, American-Mexican boxer Antonio Margarito, the license to box in the state for having illegal hand wraps in his last fight against Shane Mosley.

Nonetheless, the Sarangani legislator explained that his fight against Margarito can still happen considering that the challenger is still allowed to fight in other states like Texas, which houses one of the proposed venue – the Cowboy Stadium in Dallas.

Pacquiao noted that he is ready to start his training, saying they will be using one of his houses in San Mateo or Montalban in Rizal as his initial training camp to prep up for the fight that was originally set on November 13.

The People's Champion usually warms up the first month of his training in the country before flying to the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California for an intensified training with coach Freddie Roach at least six weeks before the actual bout.
