They’re really beautiful, probably one of the most beautiful batches of Miss Universe candidates. I didn’t miss this year’s coronation night. How could I when the country’s bet Maria Venus Raj had a great chance of getting the crown?

Anticipating Venus’ entering the top five, I watched eagerly, evaluating each of the candidates’ looks.

They were really beautiful, but three of them really stood out…because they looked like some famous personalities.

The most striking among the five was Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps. With her nice tan, a little voluptuous body made obvious by her blue form-fitting gown, she reminded me of Beyoncé. And with her smile, she could have sung and dance to the tune of “Single Ladies.”

There was also Miss Mexico. Jimena Navarrete’s beauty might not be as fierce as that of Miss Jamaica’s. She’s sweet looking and could pass for a high school student, just like Vanessa Hudgens.

And last but not the least, our very own Venus. Venus’ beauty is not ordinary. It’s like that of a queen’s – imperial, fit to wear a crown. And her look alike…fellow beauty queen Miss World 1973 first runner up Evangeline Pascual.
