WNCAA: 3 teams unbeaten

Lyceum, Rizal Technological University and Philippine Women’s University remained unscathed as they continued to lord it over the 41st WNCAA senior division events over the weekend.

Lyceum leads Group A of the basketball tournament with a 4-0 card after overpowering University of Asia and the Pacific, 86-42, while PWU dominated San Beda College-Alabang, 84-21, to stay atop Group B (3-0) on Sunday at the Lyceum gym.

Ten-time champion Lyceum and RTU share the top spot in the Group A of the volleyball event with similar 3-0 cards and will dispute the No. 1 position on Sunday.

RTU survived San Beda, 25-18, 25-12, 25-16 and Lyceum handed Miriam College a fourth straight defeat, 25-14, 25-11, 25-14, at the St. Scholastica gym.

PWU completed a four-game sweep of the Group B elimination after thumping host Centro Escolar University, 16-25, 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 15-11.

CEU and St. Scholastica’s College, which downed La Consolacion College Manila, 28-26, 25-16, 25-19, have secured semifinal seats with their 2-1 slates, leaving winless squads La Consolacion and Emilio Aguinaldo College Manila to dispute the fourth and last berth.
