In what he describes as “the fight of my life,” Antonio Margarito boasted that he “will knock (Manny) Pacquiao out” when they collide on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.

Margarito told the Mexican media that “Manny will be in for a tough fight” when they vie for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) super-welterweight crown.

A huge underdog, Margarito assured fight fans that he will not allow himself to be used as Pacquiao’s springboard for an unprecedented eight world title and that the Filipino should expect him not to suffer the same fate as Oscar De La Hoya.

“I won’t quit like De La Hoya did (in December, 2008 when De La Hoya quit on his stool against Pacquiao),” added Margarito, who at 5-11 is five inches taller than Pacquiao.

Margarito will report for training camp under trainer Robert Garcia in Oxnard, California on September 6 immediately after he and Pacquiao go on a promotional tour of Los Angeles, New York and Dallas.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao was mobbed at LAX International upon his arrival there Monday night (Tuesday morning in Manila) on board Philippine Airlines.

Pacquiao and Margarito get to size each other up Tuesday during a kickoff press conference at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
