Ateneo and Lyceum gun for the last two semifinal slots as they take on separate rivals this Thursday at the close of the quarterfinal round in the 7th Shakey’s V-League second conference at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Eagles collide with the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws at 4 p.m. in a virtual knockout match for the last Final Four berth, while the Lady Pirates, led by top MVP contender Mary Jean Balse, battle the also-ran National University Lady Bulldogs at 2 p.m.

With similar 6-5 records, the Lady Eagles and the Lady Pirates need only to beat their rivals to join league-leading San Sebastian-Excelroof (10-2) and Adamson University (10-2) in the Final Four of the event sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza.

The Ateneo-FEU showdown is keenly awaited since the Lady Tamaraws have a chance to force a playoff for the last semis slot with a win.

The Lady Tamaraws have a 5-6 mark and one of their defeats were inflicted by the Lady Eagles, 25-19, 25-19, 28-26.
