Jeson makes it to US Open
After days of uncertainty, Jeson Patrombon finally left for the United States on Friday to compete in the US Open Junior Championships slated to start on Sunday in New York.
Patrombon is expected to arrive in New York Friday evening, allowing him just one day of practice before he plunges into action in the Open’s junior competition for players 18 years and below.
Patrombon had to pick up his passport at the Air21 offices after a delay in the delivery of the document caused by his late application for a US visa.
The US Open will be Patrombon’s fourth grand slam appearance.
He has not advanced past the first round in his previous appearances and is unlikely to break that streak considering that he will not get enough practice hours and will still be jet lagged once he steps on the court on Sunday.
