Cocktails for the cold season

The "Ber" months bring on the brrr. As the weather takes a cold turn, drinks that warm the body return as a major trend. Also, cocktail aficionados are looking for drinks that utilize the ingredients that come with the cold season.

Here are some interesting cocktails for you to try.

Hot Peppermint Patty

Ingredients:

* 1 oz peppermint schnapps
* 1/2 oz dark crème de cacao
* 1 tsp crème de menthe
* hot chocolate
* whipped cream
* shaved chocolate or chocolate sprinkles for garnish

Preparation:

1. Pour the liqueurs into an Irish coffee glass.
2. Fill with hot chocolate.
3. Top with whipped cream.
4. Garnish with shaved chocolate or chocolate sprinkles.

Royal Washington Apple

Ingredients

* 1 ounce(s) Crown Royal Deluxe
* 1/4 ounce(s) Smirnoff Green Apple Flavored Vodka

Directions

1. Add Crown Royal Deluxe and Smirnoff Green Apple Flavored Vodka.
2. Shake with ice and pour into glass.

Cinnamon Toast

Ingredients

* 1 1/4 ounce(s) Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
* 6 ounce(s) hot apple cider
* 1 tablespoon(s) sugar
* 1 tablespoon(s) cinnamon

Directions

1. Add hot apple cider and Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum to a glass rimmed with sugar and cinnamon.

For those who don't drink, try this cute Berry Sweetheart mocktail.

Ingredients:

* 3 oz red cranberry juice
* 3 oz apple juice
* 1 oz honey
* maraschino cherry for garnish

Preparation:

1. Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
2. Add the juices and honey to a mixing glass.
3. Stir the ingredients with a barspoon.
4. Pour the contents of the mixing glass into the highball glass.
5. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
