‘Padres’ play vs ex-PBA Superstars in Charity Game

A team of Catholic priests, known as “Padres,” will go up against a team consisting of former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) legends in a charity match to be held on Thursday, September 9, 6 p.m. at the Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City.

Organized by the Archdiocese of Manila’s Biblical Apostolate, the onegame charity event aims to gather funds for the programs and projects of the Sta. Clara de Montefalco Parish in Pasay City.

Fr. Tony Navarette, archdiocesan Biblical Apostolate director, said the proceeds of the game will be distributed to the parish’s indigent families.

Tickets are at P250, P150, and P100. Prizes like five mobile phones and basketball shoes will be raffled off at halftime for ringside and lower box ticket holders.

The team of Catholic priests is composed of Frs. Jerome Secillano, Steve Zabala, Aitoy Opiano, Ronald Macale, Marty Marcelo, Mark Manda, Armand Ichabod, Betbet Rabonza, Joey Sepe, Roger Solis, and Japs Apun.

The former PBA players team is composed of Alvin Patrimonio, Johnny Abarrientos, Jerry Codinera, Bobby Jose, Nany Garcia, Rodney Santos, Vergel Meneses, Mark Victoria, Renzy Bajar, and Eric Gascon
