DoLE explains wage benefit for September 10
Manila, Philippines — As part of Malacañang’s declaration of the Eid’ Fitre on Friday, as a regular holiday, workers will receive twice their regular wage, the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) said in a statement on Tuesday.
Labor and Employment Rosalinda Baldoz also said laborers are also entitled to receive an additional 30 percent of his hourly wage in his overtime pay during the celebration.
Meanwhile, if the holiday falls on the day-off of an employee, they will receive 200 percent of their regular wage plus 30 percent of their hourly rate during the first eight hours of their work. In case of overtime, they will receive another 30 percent of their hourly wage.
Workers who will be absent during the holiday will still receive their full wage for the day, provided they worked the day before.
