Manila, Philippines — Kenyan import Austin Manyara made major damage inside as Adamson prevented another late meltdown to defeat La Salle, 69-64, and gain the No. 3 spot heading into the Final Four of the 73rd UAAP basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.

The 6-5 Manyara registered the best game of his young collegiate career making 11 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks as he prevented the Green Archers from completing a comeback from a 14-point deficit (57-43) entering the payoff period.

The win ended the San Marcelino-based squad's elimination round campaign at No. 3, thus assuring them of a Final Four meeting with the loser of tomorrow's big showdown pitting Far Eastern and three-peat seeking Ateneo.

Although he doesn't have the luxury of selecting which team to face, Manyara prefers the Blue Eagles, saying: "I don't think it matters. We have a debt to settle with Ateneo."

The Archers, who wasted a 14-2 lead at the start, finished with an 8-6 record for fourth spot and will play the winner of the Tamaraws-Eagles tiff for the top spot in the Final Four.

National University closed out its campaign on a winning note as Cameroonian Emmanuel Mbe and seldom-used Jul-ashri Ignacio led the Bulldogs to a 62-54 win over University of Santo Tomas.
