Most Searched Halloween Costumes
With Halloween just around the corner, pumpkin carving designs, Halloween party themes and costume ideas are already sky-rocketing in online searches. But among all of these, it’s easy to guess what’s on top of the online search list.
For this year, Yahoo! reveals the most searched costumes based on the results from Yahoo! Search. From pop culture icons to more traditional characters, you’ll be both surprised and entertained on the results.
For babies, the top searches include costumes for angels, ballerinas, Sesame Street’s Elmo, Pebbles and Bam Bam and Thomas the Tank Engine.
For young boys, the traditional Mummy and devil costumes are trending on searches. But on top of the costume-for-young-boys category is the traditional Halloween vampire costume.
Comic book heroes are also one of the top searches for boys. Superman and Spiderman as well as the newer heroes like Iron Man, Robo Cop, Lego Man and even Harry Potter are trending. Surprisingly, Batman, who’s got no special powers, got the top spot.
For the girls, Snow White, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, flappers and girl vampires are also trending. And looks like girls want to be heroines, too, with Cat Woman’s inclusion in the list.
Aside from these characters, Power Puff costumes and ICarly from Nickelodeon are also topping the searches for girl costumes together with, of course, princess costumes. Alice in Wonderland got the most searched.
For adults, gangsters, pirates and zombies and vampires are trending, together with goddesses, witches, Cleopatra and Snow White. Showgirls, cheerleaders and sexy brides also made the list.
Also, Sue Sylvester will not be appearing solely on Glee this Halloween. With the hit show’s following and its new season, searches for the cheer squad’s coach’s ensemble are also trending.
And finally, on top of the searches are real-life Lady Gaga costumes. For a woman who dons costumes every day, there is a wide range of costumes to choose from.
