Pietro Collection's new showroom in Makati City

Pietro Collection is a one-stop shop for decorating needs. Its inventory includes an extensive line up of imported lighting fixtures, from table lamps to chandeliers. The store also carries accessories made of different materials, in various colors, for every theme possible. Vases, bowls, boxes, frames, candleholders, and artworks line the shelves. They are available in wood, crystal, porcelain, and metal.

“My mom’s family had a hardware store and I guess it was a natural thing to progress to this,” says owner Winnie Rodrigo – Domingo who started the business with her late uncle, Pete Estayo (whose name in Italian is Pietro) in 1988. “My uncle was really into fixing the house. I eventually developed the love for it too. It’s a lot of fun especially when we go on buying trips,” she discloses.

Winnie usually scours the US, Italy, and China for the best finds with her sister Rachelle Rodrigo–Almario as her constant companion during the thrice-a-year travels. When making purchases they usually have a particular type of customer in mind. Most of the time, they tend to gravitate towards items that appeal to their personal preferences.

Still in the process of getting settled in its new address, Pietro is working out some space for a small gallery to be alloted for exhibits of Filipino artists. The house adjacent to the store will be a venue for featured designers to style statement walls and conceptualize vignettes. “To inspire clients,” Winnie explains their main objective. This will go hand in hand with the style and design consultancy services they intend to extend. Later on, custom wallpaper design and printing will also be offered.
