Katy Perry’s wedding to Russell Brand might not be as complete and special without one of the popstar’s best friends Rihanna.

Us Magazine’s source, who was said to be close to Rihanna, said the singer was not able to attend the wedding on October 23 due to work.

"Rih was finishing her album, and she just switched managers, so she had to pull out at the last minute. It was always sort of up in the air that she would go anyway, and Katy knew that. They saved her a room just in case, but they always knew it would be nearly impossible for her to make it as she's still finishing the album and it's out in a few weeks. Rih was in the studio all weekend."

But MediaTakeOut reported that there might be something else to Rihanna’s absence.

A source, also said to be close to the singer, said that Rihanna got into an argument with boyfriend Matt Kemp, causing them both to miss Perry’s wedding.

"[Rihanna] and Matt were [verbally] fighting all week, and it ended up messing up their plans," the insider said.

However, Gossip Cop’s source said that this is completely false, and that Rihanna had to be in the studio.

Perry and Brand were wed in a Christian ceremony at the Ranthambhore National Park in northern India. The newlyweds had planned to have their honeymoon in the Maldives.
