MANILA, Philippines — After Charice's debut on the second season of “Glee,” two more teens with Filipino blood have scored appearances on the hit TV series.

First is half-Irish, half-Filipino Darren Criss, who first appeared on “Glee” in the “Never Been Kissed” episode last week. He plays Blaine, a gay student from one of the New Direction’s rivals, Dalton Academy Warblers.

Not only is he making waves as Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) potential love interest, his version of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” went to number one on the iTunes music chart, and received thumbs up from the original singer herself.

“Oh...My...Gosh... this just brought a sweet tear to my eye! Teenage Dream on GLEE makes my heart go WEEEEE!” tweeted Katy on Nov. 5.

And just last Nov. 15, Billboard.com confirmed that Darren has officially signed as a regular on the series. He is said to appear for the rest of season two, as well as season three.

Darren has already gained online fans prior to his appearance on “Glee,” as he is one of the co-writers and stars of the popular YouTube musical-comedy skits “A Very Potter Musical” and “A Very Potter Sequel,” which are inspired by J.K. Rowling’s best-selling novels.

Meanwhile, “Glee” cast members Matthew Morrison, Cory Monteith, Kevin McHale, and fellow Asian Harry Shum, Jr. have announced Hazel Faith dela Cruz as the winner of the “Glee Off To Hollywood” contest by local channels ETC and Jack TV. The Mapua University student was one of the lucky winners to have scored an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles, California and a walk-in role on the show.

Fans of the show were asked to submit their most creative video which should answer the question of why they deserve to be on “Glee.” In her winning entry, Hazel said that the show, which centers on high school misfits, helped her develop her self-confidence.

According to abs-cbnNEWS.com, Hazel had already taped her scene for a “Glee” episode.

A number of actors and musicians have expressed their desire to be part of “Glee,” including “American Idol” Season 7 runner up David Archuleta. In an earlier interview with Billboard, the young singer-songwriter said that given the chance, he would love join his friend Charice on the show.

Although David and Charice (who is currently in the US) did not get to see each other when the former arrived in Manila last Nov. 16 for a promo tour, the two are set to reunite at the Christmas Tree Lighting at the Grove event in LA on Nov. 21.

Charice and David became friends when they recorded a duet of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” for his holiday album.
