MANILA, Philippines - Like how they managed to skirt the public on their wedding day, Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos have kept people from seeing their son Juan Luis' photos until now.

The showbiz couple wanted to have the baby baptized first before letting the public have a glimpse of Lucho, Juan Luis' nickname.

"It was just a matter of time before this picture of baby Lucho was to be shared to the press. It was just the family's request to wait until after the baptism was done," Mr. and Mrs. Agoncillo relayed to Bulletin Entertainment via an email sent by Ryan's manager Noel Ferrer.

"We are happy and thankful that most of our friends in media honored such request—except for one who came out with paparazzi shots of the baptism and reception," the statement read.

Ryan and Judy Ann recognize the patience that the entertainment media exercised to honor their wish.

"We know that media is such a mad scramble for scoops and ratings, but we would like to thank everyone who patiently understood the request of the Agoncillo family."

Officiated by Fr. Tito Calauag, Lucho was baptized at the Sacred Heart Parish in Hillsborough, Alabang. Reception followed at Global City in Taguig.
