How to find the best airfare deals
Whatever plan you might have for the holiday season, it would be a great idea to start planning and arranging flight and hotel bookings as early as now to ensure that your plans wouldn’t get foiled by last minute changes in schedule and expensive travel deals.
And since the cost of flying is now rising, you might want to take care of this matter first. But while the cost of flying is not really within your control – not unless your family owns a fleet of commercial planes – you can still score some not-so-expensive ticket deals and even cheap ones if you just know where to look and how to get them.
First understand that the rules around when and where to buy tickets are constantly in flux — airfare offers change up to three times each day during the week. Airlines aren’t just changing the fares but also the number of seats that are available at the lowest fare.
This means that when you find just one seat available today at the lowest price, it doesn’t mean that no cheaper seats will be available for the rest of the week. Remember that timing is everything when booking tickets so finding a cheap seat the next day even when the day of your flight will be actually nearer is still a possibility.
Booking online requires fast decision-making since during the moment when you’re thinking about whether booking the ticket or not, a hundred, even thousands, more are thinking about the same thing and they might make the decision earlier than you do, making you lose your chance.
In order to find the lowest fare, your travel dates have to be flexible, too. Allow day allowances when booking for a flight because you can save more if you adjust your travel dates by just one or two days.
Also, don’t stick to just one airline company when looking for the perfect travel deal. Look for travel deals including airfare, accommodation, etc. in as many airlines or booking sites as possible. The more options you have, the better.
