Acquitted Vizconde massacre suspects file extradition raps vs. Jessica Alfaro
MANILA, Philippines (PNA) — The camp of the two accused acquitted in the Vizconde massacre is set to file an extradition case against Jessica Alfaro.
Alfaro was the "star witness" in the massacre of sisters Carmela and Jennifer and their mother Estrellita on June 29, 1991.
Alfaro is presently residing in the United States.
Atty. Jose Flaminiano, legal counsel of Hospicio "Pike" Fernandez and Gerardo Biong, said that they will not allow Alfaro to get away unpunished with her testimony linking his clients in the massacre.
Likewise, Flaminiano also said that he will coordinate with all the legal counsels of the acquitted accused in order to firm up their action such as the filing of the extradition case against Alfaro.
Flaminiano further said that they will also file charges for fabrication of evidence against Alfaro following the decision of the highest court of the land that found the testimony of Alfaro as full of inherent inconsistencies.
The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday acquitted Hubert Webb and six other accused because of the failure of the prosecution to prove their guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
The legal counsel stressed that they will not keep their mouth shut more so that their fight for justice has strengthened after the SC acquitted the group allegedly involved in the Vizconde massacre led by Hubert Webb.
Flaminiano added that they are now studying their option to ask for damages from the government such that their clients were imprisoned from 10 to 15 years.
