KC in African mission; Kyla set for Asian tour

MANILA, Philippines – UN World Food Program (UNWFP) national ambassador KC Concepcion is doing well in her mission, says Mei Nebreja of UNWFP.
In an update sent to ABS-CBN Star Magic, Nebreja related that KC went on a 10-hour trip to UN centers in Uganda’s remote and impoverished areas on Jan. 16 to distribute formulated meals.
Before leaving the country on Jan. 14, KC took all necessary precautions such as getting anti-malaria shots and packing long-sleeved clothes and socks. A nervous KC asked the public to pray for her as she embarks on her very first mission outside the Philippines. According to reports, she will be in Africa for a week.
In other news, preparations are already underway for Kyla’s Asian tour early this year.
“Sobra-sobra talaga kong excited na maumpisahan na namin yung tour,” Kyla gushed in a taped interview aired last Jan. 19 on “Unang Hirit.”
Last September, Kyla inked a three-year contract with Tarra Group Indonesia. In a previous interview, Kyla mentioned that she's already collaborated with its local artists and recorded albums to be distributed in Southeast Asia. She has also held a series of successful concerts in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Showing her fondness for Indonesia, Kyla expressed her eagerness to return to the country.
“Especially dun sa Indonesia, parang mga Pinoy ['yung mga tao]. Kung ano 'yung gusto natin, 'yun din 'yung gusto nila. Mahilig tayo sa R&B, sila rin mahilig rin sila sa R&B,” said she.
Locally, Kyla has released her 8th studio album “Private Affair.” It contains all-original songs including her favorite, "A Song For The Love In Summer," written by her dad, Ulysis Calumpad.
