US bishops back CBCP drive on RH bill

MANILA, Philippines – The Filipino prelates’ campaign against the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) bill has received support from Cardinal Francis George, head of the US Conference of the Catholic Bishops.

Pampanga Archbishop Paciano Aniceto, head of the Episcopal Commission on Family and Life of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (ECFL-CBCP), said that he has received a call last Monday, from USCCB President Cardinal Francis George expressing his support for their campaign against the bill.

Aniceto said that the Cardinal even assured him of their prayer that the CBCP would win the battle against measures that attack the sanctity of life.

“He told me that they are praying for the Philippine Catholic Church and our advocacy against the RH bill,” Aniceto said over church-run Radyo Veritas.

“(So) the Catholic bishops of America are one with us in pushing for the protecting the sanctity of life, dignity of the family, and the health of our women,” he added. (Leslie Ann Aquino)

It is fine for these people accross the Atlantic to speak as they do, many km away. Why don;t they come down to earth and see for themselves what poverty people ar living in?
A family with many many children begging for food and help. A mother who starved to death because she could not feed all her family. There is nothing wrong with religion, but see life as it is now, and think about por people condemned to a life of poverty because an unmarried man says you MUST do this.
