DoE forum tackles energy efficiency
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy (DoE) said Friday that it is making a strong headway to push its policy directions in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation, power, alternative fuels for transport and other major applications.
This was revealed by Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras during the first of a series of forums on Energy Sector Information and Education Campaign held in Cagayan de Oro City recently.
On the subject of ensuring energy supply security, Almendras said that the government has been encouraging proponents of available resources and technologies, including both hydro and non-hydro options.
Almendras also highlighted initiatives to study the feasibility of putting up a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal in Mindanao. (Ellson Quismorio)
