MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas extended its reign in the men’s division to four as it outlasted Far Eastern University, 29-27, 26-24, 25-23, Saturday in the UAAP volleyball competition at The Arena in San Juan.

The Tigers leaned on Most Valuable Player John Paul Torres, FinalsMVP Jayson Ramos, Salvador Depante and team skipper Henry James Pecana to beat FEU and complete a sweep of their best-of-three title series.

It was the España-based squad's 19th overall title which is second all-time behind FEU's 24 championships.

"Hindi nawala yung composure at intensity nila kahit medyo bumibitaw ng konti," said veteran coach Emil Lontoc, who promised a season ago to give the school a four-peat on its 400th year anniversary.

In the second game, La Salle captured its sixth women's crown with a 25-18, 25-17, 28-26 victory over UST.

It was also the Lady Archers' second title in three years.
