Apalit to honor top PMA grad

APALIT, Pampanga — This first-class municipality will honor this year’s top graduate from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) who hails from Barangay San Juan here.

Apalit Mayor Oscar Tetangco said the municipal government will set a welcome party to recognize the “rare accomplishment” of Angelo Edward Parras who bested 195 other graduate of the Laon-Alab class of the premier military school in the Philippines.

“We are very proud of his achievements because not every town will have the rare opportunity to have a son as bright as him,” Tetangco said.

Tetangco said the Apalit government has created a committee that will coordinate with the family of Parras regarding the “grand welcome” that they are planning to conduct once the PMA top graduate returns home in Apalit.

The mayor said they have set the tentative date of the welcome party on March 8, but disclosed that the date is not yet final because Parras, who will also receive the Presidential Saber Award from his fellow Kapampangan President Aquino, (Mark Anthony N. Manuel)
