DTI Region-7 gets ISO seal
CEBU CITY – The Region 7 office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-7), including its regional and provincial offices, announced it is now an ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certified.
The certification of the quality management system (QMS) ISO 9001:2008 was formally awarded by the Certification International Philippines (CIP), Inc. to the DTI-7 regional and provincial offices during a formal ceremony held here recently.
The certificate issued on Dec. 6, 2010 and signed by the CIP managing director Renato Navarette highlights the trade and industry programs and services by the department.
“As ISO-certified, DTI-7 has fully developed certain formal processes in its management quality control,” read DTI 7's statement.
According to DTI-7 Director Asteria Caberte, getting an ISO certification means that the government agency is now globally recognized to deliver good quality product and service.
A quality system, she said, shows that there is consistency in the day to day operations of the agency, and improves the efficiency, reduce operating cost, and minimize unproductive time.
