3,800 scholars in Cavite get assistance
MANILA, Philippines — Some 3,800 scholars from different state and private colleges and universities in upland and lowland districts of Cavite will soon get P5,000 cash assistance each from the provincial government, officials said Tuesday.
Alvin S. Mojica, Provincial Scholarship Committee chairman, said that the assistance will be given to the students in a program set from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday (March 12) at Cavite Provincial Gymnasium in Trece Martires City.
Dubbed as Mass Distribution of Provincial Educational Assistance, the event will be led by Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr., Provincial Social and Welfare Development Officer Felipa V. Servañez, Provincial Board Members Marcos C. Amutan, chairman of Committee on Education; and Rolando S. Remulla, Personal Affairs and Appointments Committee chairman; Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC)-Cavite Student Affairs Dean Jaime Encabo and a few other officials.
Mojica, in an interview, said that the provincial administration has allotted P19 million for the P5,000 cash assistance for each concerned students. The amount came from the Development Fund of the Office of the Governor.
The committee official said that the provincial administration appropriates a budget annually for the educational assistance of deserving students.
