CEBU CITY, Philippines – Exporters in Cebu are highly urged to enlist themselves in the Automated Profile System of the Bureau of Customs (BoC) the earliest possible time, or else risk not having to ship their goods abroad, warned an official from the Confederation of Philippine Exporters in Cebu (Philexport-Cebu).

Philexport-Cebu Executive Director Fred Escalona bared the BoC recently issued a memorandum detailing the e2m (electronic to mobile) Phase 4 Customs roll out, requiring all exporters in the country to get accredited with the Client Profile Registration System (CPRS).

Under the BoC’s e2m system, exporters will have faster export transaction as it involves an Internet-base technology where registered banks, freight forwarders, shipping lines and ports, among others, are inter-linked.

“This will lessen opportunities for corruption,” Escalona said.
