MANILA, Philippines – An association of nursing leaders is holding its Annual Convention on March 25, 2011, at the Historic Landmark Manila Hotel to review and assess breakthroughs and innovations in health care and management. This year’s theme is “Nursing Leaders: Innovators of Best Practices.” The convention is a project of the Association of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines (ANSAP), composed of over a thousand Chief Nurses and Directors of nursing service of government and private hospitals and community health organizations in Metro Manila. The convention’s aim is two-fold: To share best practices in clinical and administrative innovations, and to apply the balanced scorecard for strategic robust change.

ANSAP, re-organized in 1967, is at the forefront of efforts to provide continuing education and training for nurses, an important aspect of which is the Intravenous (IV) Therapy Training.

Through the years, ANSAP has played a significant role in the upgrade of the nursing profession in the country. It is today a cohesive, pro-active professional group committed to excellence in nursing. As nursing roles evolve and expand in scope, the association continually holds refresher course, training and seminar to help update nurses on new and modern trends in areas in which they work, such as internal medicine, oncology, pediatrics, critical care, nephrology, psychiatric, obstetrics-gynecology, and cardiology. Filipino nurses, whether here or abroad, perform multi-faceted tasks necessary to the delivery of safe and quality health care, and are often tapped to assist in medical and nursing research.

We congratulate the Association of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines, headed by its Founding President Dr. Perla B. Sanchez and Incumbent President Dr. Maria Linda G. Buhat, Officers and Members on the occasion of its Annual Convention.

We wish them all the best and success in all their endeavors.
