MANILA, Philippines – Jeson Patrombon earned a wildcard berth in his pro debut in the three-leg $10,000 India Futures starting on April 11.

Patrombon’s coach Manny Tecson Tuesday said the 18-year-old netter got a wildcard entry in the main draw of the first leg set April 11 to 17 in Chandigarh, while receiving a wildcard ticket in the 32-man qualifying round in the second and third leg on April 18 to 24 in Noida and April 25 to 30 in Chennai.

According to his mentor, the Indian organizers were impressed with his current No. 10 ITF ranking in the juniors and his runner-up finishes in three tournaments – the last one in the Mitsubishi event in Manila.

Tecson said Patrombon is optimistic that he can get his first ATP points, although the competition level is expected to be more challenging.
