CEBU CITY, Cebu, Philippines — As an initiative to help calamity victims of the killer earthquake and tsunami last March 11 in Japan, and to continue with its activity of organizing health conscious events, the Three Sixty Pharmacy is organizing a run event for Japan which organizers expect some 3,000 running enthusiasts to participate in.

“This is our way of helping the Japanese people who were badly affectedby the recent earthquake and tsunami,” said Three Sixty General Manager Ramon Carlo Yap.

He said the run dubbed as “One Thousand Cranes Run” was inspired by an ancient Japanese legend which accounts that those who fold a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish like long life or recovery.

“We will be putting up a booth where donors can fold origami cranes during the event which is slated on May 22,” said Yap.

The second Three Sixty-sponsored run will have a paperless registration with participants signing up online.

Yap also said they are planning three more cause-oriented runs before yearend.

Cebu’s premiere race manage, Kenneth Casquejo of Runcheck.ph said the registration fees of the participants are inclusive of race bib number, exclusive canvas with goodies, and a limited edition jersey.

The registration fee will include a free personal accident insurance worth R50,000 that will expire until January 2012.
