Local fruits in Korea expo
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Mindanao’s fresh and processed fruits penetrated the lucrative Korean food market as fruit producers on this island region joined South Korea’s biggest food expo along with other exhibitors from the rest of the world, the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) said.
At least eight local fruit producers and exporters in Mindanao were part of this year’s Philippine delegation to the Seoul Food 2011 held last week up to May 1 at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Seoul, South Korea.
In a statement, the MinDA said the exhibit included a Philippine pavilion which featured the best of the country’s food products, including Mindanao’s fresh and processed fruits.
The Mindanao delegation was composed of BG Fruits Manufacturing Corporation, Soyuz Foods Corporation, FruitGems Agricultural Corporation, See’s International Corporation, Philippine Fruits Int’l Corporation, Southern Philippines Fresh Fruit Corporation, Agri-nurture/Fruitilicious Corporation, and the Federation of ARB-based Banana Cooperative.
