Fortified rice for Aleosan

 ALEOSAN, North Cotabato, Philippines – Top executives of the United Nations’ World Food Program (WFP) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) are set to turnover iron-fortified rice supplies to conflict-affected villagers here today under their joint anti-hunger drive.

WFP Communications Specialist Angeli Mendoza yesterday said movie personality KC Concepcion, the WFP National Ambassador against hunger, will accompany DSWD Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman and WFP Country

Director and Representative Stephen Anderson in ceremonies set to draw both spectators and beneficiaries in this erstwhile conflict-gripped town.

Soliman will proceed here after the launching rite of the free birth registration sessions in Cotabato City for residents of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Local officials led by North Cotabato Gov. Emmylou “Lala” Talino-Mendoza and Aleosan Mayor Loreto Cabaya will receive and assist the visiting dignitaries in turning over iron-fortified rice under the Armed Forces of the
