12 passengers injured in northern Negros Occidental town road mishap
ILOILO CITY, Philippines (PNA) -- Twelve passengers, including three children, were injured in a vehicular mishap involving a mini-bus and a Ceres bus in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.
Police said the incident happened at 4 p.m. along the national highway in Hacienda Teresa, Barangay Alicante, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.
Investigation showed that the mini-bus was on its way to Bacolod City from Manapla when the highway mishap happened.
Mini-bus conductor Bonifacio Canoy said they were surprised when the Ceres bus tailing them suddenly crashed into the left rear end of their vehicle.
The violent crash caused the mini bus to overturn, where the passengers were injured. Those hurt were brought to Silay Provincial Hospital.
The three children sustained slight injuries in the different parts of their bodies while an elderly passenger was reported to be in serious condition when rushed to the hospital.
The drivers of both vehicles are now in the custody of the police.
