LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines — Due to its outstanding implementation and public benefit, a water supply distribution project funded by the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) in Bolinao town was cited as an outstanding development project.

The P50-million Bolinao project was given the commendation by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) under the 2010 Infrastructure Development Awards category.

The project involved the rehabilitation of the municipal water supply distribution system, enabling 1,355 households to have access to adequate and potable water supply in Concordia, Germinal and Luciente. Before, only 376 households were benefitted. It was completed on the last quarter last year.

Filipina B. Monje, Land Bank head for Region 1 and western Cordillera Administrative Region, said the availability of reliable water supply in the area also benefitted the aquaculture industry in the town.
