Leyte Governor Carlos Jericho L. Petilla led the medical, technological, agricultural and livelihood intervention caravan “Icot-icot ha Barangay” to the towns of Carigara and Pastrana in the province’s second district.
Getting financial aid were barangays Paglaum, Candigahub, Canlampay, Tinaguban, East Visoria, Barugohay Central, Barugohay Norte, Baybay, Jugaban, Sawang, San Mateo and Camansi in Carigara; and Capilla, Yapad, Sapsap, Lourdes, Bahay, Colawen and Caninoan.
The funds would be used to build barangay halls, street lighting, fencing of village structures, public toilets, barangay roads and pathways, drainage systems, day care centers, basketball courts and water systems.
During his visits, Petilla also met with the barangay officials and barangay residents to find out their various concerns.
Among the issues raised by Carigara farmers was the provision of rice seeds for farmers affected by heavy rains that flooded the province in March and April.
The governor assured them the province will be providing the rice seeds in time for the coming planting season.
Also brought by this recent Icot-Icot ha Barangay was distribution of food packs for barangay residents and medicines for the barangays visited.
