Infrastructure projects implemented in June
BONTOC, Mt. Province, Philippines — Nine infrastructure projects funded by the 2011 regular budget of the Mountain Province District Engineering Office (MPDEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) totaling to over P113 million are expected to go on full blast this June in order to boost the infrastructure development of the various towns.
MPDEO Assistant District Engineer Charles Sokoken said their office is now completing the bidding process of the remaining unbidded regular infrastructure projects in time for their implementation next month so that they will be able to address the problems of the province’s roads linking the different towns as well as other neighboring provinces in order to ensure convenient travel among motorists.
Sokoken said DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson wants all the projects identified and funded under the Engineering District’s 2011 regular budget in the amount of P113 Million to start implementation as soon as possible so that the impact of improved infrastructure to the living condition of people will be felt, especially in far flung communities where people are in need of better roads to help increase economic activities that will translate to improved living condition.
Of the nine infra projects, three road concreting projects of short distances with a total project cost of P6 million are on-going implementation.
These are the Eyep – DPWH Motor Pool Road, PC-Barracks Road and Government Center – Cadre Road, all within the national secondary artery roads in the capital-town of Bontoc.
