ANTIPOLO CITY, Philippines — The city government has begun adopting the Metro Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA’s) successful anti-littering campaign and apprehended over 100 litterbugs this week.

Enforcers of the City’s Environment and Waste Management Office (CEWMO) have been deployed on parks and other tourist areas in the city to catch people who are indiscriminately throwing even a small piece of trash such as cigarette butt, candy wrapper and plastic cups.

More than 100 litterbugs have been caught and penalized, either by shelling out P500 or by doing community service like cleaning creaks, and waterways or taking care of the city’s flower nursery.
