MANILA, Philippines – Daniel Matsunaga broke exclusivity with current flame Heart Evangelista when he spent date night with a girl from Iloilo on May 17 at Chelsea restaurant, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

The lucky girl who had the Brapanese hunk asking for Heart’s permission to date someone else was Jonha Revesencio, winner of a date-Daniel “Veet Me” online contest participated in by 200 hopefuls whose entries were eventually cut to top 50 videos.

“Hindi naman talaga selosa si Heart. Naiintindihan niya yung trabaho kasi pareho naman kami nasa showbiz,” Daniel said to Bulletin Entertainment in a media huddle at M Café in Greenbelt prior to his date.

Daniel’s date, who shot her video entry in Boracay, also won an Apple iPad apart from borrowing Heart’s boyfriend. She said, “Who wouldn’t want to date Daniel? He seems to be a well-grounded man, a perfect date for any woman.”

The actor-model who is currently part of a five-man group that clinched a movie contract with Regal Entertainment (alongside JC Tiuseco, Ervic Vijandre, Ian Batherson and Fabio Ide) earned the most votes when Veet conducted a survey about which man women would want to get stuck in an elevator with.

Daniel topped the survey that also included Akihiro Sato and even Piolo Pascual, thereby landing him the gig endorsing a product intended for feminine use.

Meanwhile, Daniel also shared with entertainment scribes that he’s been improving his Tagalog.

“Nag-aaral kasi ako mag-Tagalog tatlong oras, araw-araw kaya mas nakakapagsalita na ako ng Filipino,” he proudly said.

Runners-up at the “Date Me Daniel” search were entries by Mary Michelle dela Cruz, Jacquelyn Mampolino, and Pia Mitzi Receno.

Recall that months back, Veet launched the controversial YouTube elevator video where Daniel was seen kissing a girl. The video peaked with 400,000 hits coupled with comments from online users who could not believe Daniel “cheated” on Heart.
