CAMP EDILBERTO EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines -– Members of the 4th Civil-Military Operations “Kasaligan” Battalion (4th CMO) of the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division (4th ID) on Friday conducted a “Brigada Eskwela” at the Bulua Central Elementary School in Barangay Bulua, this city.

The activity was in line with the Department of Education’s nationwide voluntary effort dub as the “Brigada Eskwela.” Soldiers from the 4CMO-Bn made repairs on old classrooms, painted rooms and cleaned the school grounds.

Erlinda T. Cartagena, the elementary school principal, was happy with the efforts of the Army.

“I’m so thankful that the 4th CMO selected our school. The effort given to our activity today by our soldiers is already a big help for our school and especially to our teachers and students,” said Cartagena.

Maj. Gen. Victor A Felix, commanding general of the Army’s Northern and Northeastern Mindanao 4th ID, was pleased with the opportunity for the soldiers of the division to be able to take part of the nationwide activity that is directed on helping the education sector.

“This activity gives the Army the chance to help out and carry out one of its mandate through Oplan Bayanihan. We take part in our nation-building by taking part in various projects and activities initiated by the different stakeholders in the community,” said Felix.
