Bad 'adobo' downs 400 teachers
SAN JOSE, Batangas, Philippines — Thirteen out of some 400 public school teachers who suffered from food poisoning were hospitalized after eating “adobo” at a seminar here last Wednesday, a school principal reported Friday.
Taysan National School Principal Marivic Dimaculangan said 12 of the 13 teachers confined at the San Jose District Hospital were already discharged from the hospital as of press time Friday.
Dimaculangan said only Teacher Milba Macaraig, a high school teacher from Divine National High School, remained confined at the hospital.
The other 400 teachers were also taken to the hospital but were treated by doctors as out-patients.
Macaraig said last Wednesday’s seminar for Regional Math Training for 2nd year High School was attended by 692 teachers from three school divisions in the province.
