Agusan Sur holds 'Naliyagan Fest'
BUTUAN CITY, Philippines (PIA) – This year’s staging of Agusan del Sur’s “Naliyagan Festival” will focus on promoting the tourism industry of the province.
Provincial Tourism Officer Nathaniel Lamzon said the annual celebration includes the launching of the public-private partnership to address the unemployment and other concerns which affect the province’s economy.
Naliyagan Festival is celebrated annually, highlighting the commemoration of the founding anniversary of Agusan del Sur every 17th of June.
Patriotic video contest up -- CSC
PAGADIAN CITY (PIA) – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) in partnership with Kabayanihan Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit organization that aims to bring out the hero in every Filipino launches “Kuwentong Kabayanihan: The CSC-Kabayanihan Foundation Video Contest.”
Kuwentong Kabayanihan is a competition geared towards promoting patriotic citizenship among Filipinos which carries the theme “Every Filipino is a hero. Every Filipino is part of the solution.”
The contest is open to amateur groups and individual filmmakers, and there is no limit as to the number of entries to be submitted. Organizers are looking for videos that will move ordinary Filipinos to act on the most pressing concerns in their immediate fields/circles/areas of influence.
CDO prepares for 3 occasions
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – City officials here are gearing up for three big celebrations this month – the anniversary of the declaration of this city as a Chartered City, the 113th anniversary of the declaration of the Philippine Independence, and the 150th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal.
Mayor Vicente Y. Emano already created a special task force for a well coordinated effort to conceptualize, plan, and organize the holding of the three occasions. He also ordered the technical working group to closely coordinate with all city division heads and other concerned government line agencies for the implementation of various activities. Agusan Norte to host feast
BUTUAN CITY – Officials of the provincial government of Agusan del Norte are now preparing for the 44th founding anniversary of the province on June 17.
Various committees have been created to organize activities for the anniversary celebration. The highlight of the celebration will be the State-of-the-Province Address of Agusan del Norte Gov. Erlpe John M. Amante.
The “Barangay Night” will also take place where the provincial government will be awarding the winner of the competition in the whole province. (Mike Crismundo)
Lanao intensifies anti-TB drive
TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The provincial government of Lanao del Norte has intensified its campaign against the Tuberculosis (TB) in an effort to maintain the good health of its constituents.
To strengthen the drive, the provincial government, various government agencies, and health officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The theme for the campaign is “Your help is what we need,” which amplified the need for all the stakeholders to work together to control the spread of TB in the country. (Mike Crismundo)
